A Letter from Me

Hello, scent explorer and perfume adventurer,
Thank you for being here.
This is the letter I should have started with. I only realize that now.
I wanted to remain anonymous – to stay behind the scenes, to speak through my creations, through a voice that belonged to the brand. Yet I kept returning to the thought that it was, after all, a strategy. My need for openness and sincerity would not let me rest. As the creator of a small independent perfume house, I want to build this journey guided by intuition, with calmness, courage, and honesty.
So, my name is Lijana.
My path to perfumery was long and anything but direct. A sensitive sense of smell has accompanied me throughout my life. For many years it felt more like a burden than a gift, until I learned how to smell consciously – to observe, analyze, and understand scents. There was even a time when I dreamed of living in a sterile, scentless world. That dream frightened me during the COVID pandemic, when I realized it could become reality. Thankfully, I no longer wish for that.
I have always been drawn to depth, authenticity, and nature. Growing up in the countryside nurtured my longing for nature and freedom. My studies in language and literature, together with my work as a language editor, taught me discipline, precision, attentiveness, and creativity. Each experience became another bead on a string. Different professions and years spent studying health and well-being led me to question what truly supports a healthy life, taught me to analyze ingredient lists, and to look critically at the products surrounding us. Eventually, two passions met: collecting perfumes and exploring aromatherapy.
After years of study and countless quiet hours spent understanding scent, I chose the path of natural perfumery. Without setting lower standards than those of conventional fine fragrance, I create slowly and patiently, revealing my vision in a painterly way while never losing sight of a contemporary aesthetic.
I want Lilium Parfum fragrances to belong equally in the city and in the forest—to blend harmoniously into their surroundings while always preserving their distinctive character.
Between scent and silence,
Lijana
